2027 Chevy Silverado EV Gets 750 HP and a Native Tesla NACS Port: Prices, Range, Trims and What Changed

The 2027 Chevy Silverado EV adds a native NACS port for Tesla Superchargers and 750 hp on the Trail Boss Max Range. New prices by trim, 478-mile range, towing, dropped trims and how it compares with Lightning, Cybertruck and R1T.

The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado EV changes in two ways. The top Trail Boss now makes 750 horsepower, and every 2027 truck has a native NACS charging port, the Tesla-style plug, so owners can pull into a Tesla Supercharger without an adapter.

The changes arrive at an odd time for full-size electric pickups. Ford has stopped building the all-electric F-150 Lightning, Tesla is winding down the Cybertruck, and the Silverado EV is now one of the few electric full-size trucks you can still order. Here is what changed for 2027, what it costs and how it stacks up.

What's New on the 2027 Silverado EV

  • Native NACS port. GM is putting the North American Charging Standard (SAE J3400) port on all 12 of its 2027 EVs, the Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV included. The 2026 truck uses a CCS1 port and needs an adapter at Superchargers.
  • More power at the top. Chevrolet now lists the Trail Boss at 750 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque, the maximum available with Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode. InsideEVs reports that is 25 hp more than the 2026 truck. Chevrolet says it reaches 60 mph in under 4.2 seconds with WOW in Sport mode.
  • A smaller lineup. The RST is gone, and so is the loaded 4LT. Chevrolet has also stopped selling the cheapest Work Truck (4WT) to retail buyers; the Extended and Max Range Work Trucks are now listed for fleet customers.
  • New camera features. Cabin Glance shows live video of the interior on the center screen. Security Recording saves camera footage when the alarm goes off, and Surround Vision Recorder records continuously while you drive, much like a dashcam.

Production of the 2027 trucks started at GM's Factory Zero plant in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan, in October, according to InsideEVs. Chevrolet has not announced a date for dealer deliveries.

2027 Silverado EV Horsepower and Torque by Trim

All 2027 Silverado EVs use two motors and all-wheel drive. According to InsideEVs, only the Trail Boss Max Range gained power. Peak figures require WOW mode, which is meant for short bursts, and Chevrolet does not publish output with WOW turned off.

2027 Silverado EV Prices and Trims

Prices went up across the board. The figures below come from Chevrolet's website and from reporting by InsideEVs and EV.com. Destination is about $2,595, judging by the gap between Chevrolet's LT base price and EV.com's delivered price.

TrimStarting priceNotes
LT Standard Range$61,900 ($64,495 with destination)Now the cheapest retail Silverado EV
LT Extended RangeNot yet publishedUp about $1,000, per InsideEVs
Trail Boss Extended Range$71,000Up about $1,000, per InsideEVs
Trail Boss Max Range$90,395 with destinationUp $1,200; longest range at 478 miles
Work Truck Standard Range (4WT)Was $56,095 with destinationNo longer offered to retail buyers

That last line matters. When the 4WT was on the retail order sheet, it made the Silverado EV the cheapest full-size electric pickup you could buy. With it gone, a retail shopper starts about $8,400 higher, at the LT.

Range, Towing and Charging

The Trail Boss Max Range is rated at up to 478 miles on a full charge by GM's estimate, the most in the lineup. The Silverado EV can tow up to 12,500 pounds when properly equipped and supply up to 10.2 kW of power through as many as 11 outlets, enough to run tools on a job site or back up some home circuits.

The new port is the bigger day-to-day change. GM has rated the Silverado EV for DC fast charging at up to 350 kW since its debut. Most Tesla V3 Superchargers top out at 250 kW, so speeds on Tesla's network will depend on the station. GM's Energy Pass, built into the myChevrolet app, handles sign-up and payment on the Tesla Supercharger, IONNA, Electrify America and ChargePoint networks, with EVgo coming next.

Charging cheat sheet
  • 2027 trucks: plug straight into Tesla Superchargers and other NACS chargers. You need a NACS-to-CCS adapter only for older CCS-only stations.
  • 2026 and earlier trucks: keep the CCS1 port. GM sells a NACS DC adapter for $275 for use at Superchargers.
  • Not every Supercharger works: some sites are still limited to Tesla vehicles. Check the Tesla app before you go.
  • Home charging: Level 2 charging is unchanged. Use a J1772 adapter where needed.

How the Silverado EV Compares With Rivals

There are fewer electric full-size pickups on sale than there were a year ago.

  • Ford F-150 Lightning: Ford confirmed in December 2025 that production of the all-electric Lightning had ended. The name will return on an extended-range EV with a gas generator, which Ford estimates at more than 700 miles of combined range.
  • Tesla Cybertruck: Tesla will wind down production around mid-2027 and has raised prices up to 10%. The cheapest trim that can still be ordered, the Premium AWD, is $92,490. Read our full Cybertruck story.
  • Rivian R1T: starts at $81,885 with destination for the 2026 model, according to Edmunds, with up to 420 miles of EPA-estimated range on the larger battery.
  • GMC Sierra EV: the Silverado EV's corporate twin also gets the native NACS port for 2027.
Before you buy
  • The $7,500 federal EV tax credit ended in September 2025, so there is no federal credit on a new Silverado EV. Check for dealer discounts and state incentives.
  • Leftover 2026 trucks with a CCS port may carry bigger discounts. Ask whether an NACS adapter comes with the truck.
  • Peak horsepower requires WOW mode. Everyday output is lower and has not been published.

Sales have been slow. Chevrolet dealers delivered 3,672 Silverado EVs in the second quarter of 2026. Native Supercharger access fixes one of the biggest complaints from truck owners on road trips, and it comes as GM's two biggest competitors in the segment step back.

The bottom line: The 2027 Silverado EV is the same big, long-range truck with two useful upgrades: a native NACS port that opens up Tesla's Supercharger network without an adapter, and 750 hp on the Trail Boss Max Range. The catch is price. Most trims cost about $1,000 more, and the cheapest Work Truck is gone for retail buyers, so the lineup now starts at $64,495 delivered. With the F-150 Lightning gone and the Cybertruck on its way out, though, Chevy now has fewer direct rivals.
