The 2027 Cadillac Optiq now costs less than it did a few months ago. Cadillac's website lists the Optiq Luxury, its entry-level electric SUV, at $49,995 before destination. With the destination charge included, that comes to $51,790, which is $905 less than the $52,695 GM announced when 2027 pricing came out this summer.
The cut is modest, but it matters. It brings Cadillac's least expensive EV under $50,000 before destination, and it puts the Optiq below what Americans paid on average for a new EV in September. Here is the new pricing, what you get for the money, and how the Optiq compares with the Tesla Model Y, Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Equinox EV and Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Original prices are from GM's 2027 configurator launch, as reported by GM Authority. Current prices are Cadillac.com's listed MSRPs (Luxury $49,995, Sport $50,600, Premium Luxury $53,200, Premium Sport $53,700, Optiq-V $67,500) plus the destination charge. Electrek first reported the lower prices on November 2.
How the Optiq's price has moved
2025 Optiq (launch year): started at $54,390, AWD only
2026 Optiq: a new rear-drive version lowered the starting price to $52,395
2027 Optiq (as announced): $52,695 for the Luxury RWD
2027 Optiq (now): $51,790 for the Luxury RWD, or $49,995 before destination
GM has not given a reason for the cut. The market gives some context, though. Cox Automotive estimates new EV sales fell 40.7% from a year earlier in September, to about 86,632 vehicles, and the average transaction price of a new EV was $55,842. A $51,790 Cadillac now comes in below that average.
What the Base Optiq Includes
Nothing was removed to get to the lower price. According to Cadillac.com, the Luxury trim still comes standard with:
A 33-inch Horizon Display with Google built-in
A 19-speaker AKG Studio Audio System
Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance with a three-year OnStar One plan
A built-in NACS charge port, so it plugs straight into Tesla Superchargers without an adapter
An 11.5 kW onboard AC charger (19.2 kW is available), and compatibility with Vehicle-to-Home power
A SkyGlass roof with a power shade, heated front seats and wireless phone charging
The single-motor RWD Optiq makes 315 hp and has an EPA-estimated range of 317 miles. The dual-motor AWD version makes 440 hp and is rated at 303 miles. Cargo space is 26 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 57 cubic feet with them folded. Stepping up to the Premium trims adds a head-up display, ventilated front seats with lumbar massage, and a cargo cover. The performance Optiq-V is rated at 275 miles.

Know before you buy
No Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Like other GM EVs, the Optiq uses Google built-in instead.
The federal EV tax credit ended on September 30, 2025, so the sticker price is what you pay before any dealer deals or state incentives.
Dealer discounts and lease offers vary by region, so check your local dealers' inventory before you pay MSRP.

Cadillac Optiq vs. Tesla Model Y, Lyriq, Equinox EV and Ioniq 5
The Optiq is a compact luxury SUV, and its closest rival on price and size is the Tesla Model Y. It also sits right between two GM relatives: the larger Cadillac Lyriq and the mainstream Chevrolet Equinox EV, which is built on the same GM EV platform.

Cadillac, Chevrolet and Hyundai prices are each automaker's listed MSRP before destination. Tesla prices and ranges are as reported by Electrek. The cheapest Ioniq 5, the SE Standard Range, is rated at 245 miles.
Optiq vs. Tesla Model Y: This is the comparison most shoppers will make. The two are close in size, though the Model Y has a bit more rear legroom and cargo room. A Model Y Premium AWD costs about the same as a rear-drive Optiq and goes a little farther on a charge. What the Optiq offers in return is the luxury-brand experience: the 33-inch screen, the AKG audio system and standard Super Cruise, which allows hands-free driving on compatible mapped roads. On the Tesla, Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is an extra-cost option.
Optiq vs. Cadillac Lyriq: The Lyriq is bigger and costs about $9,400 more to start. If you don't need the extra space, the Optiq gives you most of the Lyriq's technology and about the same range for much less money.
Optiq vs. Equinox EV and Ioniq 5: Both cost roughly $15,000 less and match the Optiq's range. The Equinox EV shares much of its hardware with the Optiq. The difference is the cabin, the standard features and the badge. The Ioniq 5 stands out for its fast DC charging. If range per dollar is all you care about, either one is the better value.

Is the Cheaper Optiq Worth It?
For buyers who want an electric SUV from a luxury brand, the Optiq is now one of the less expensive ways to get one. Under $50,000 before destination buys 317 miles of rated range, standard hands-free highway driving and a long list of features that cost extra on most rivals. The $905 cut won't change anyone's mind on its own. It does make the Optiq's case against a well-equipped Model Y a little stronger, and it suggests GM is willing to sharpen prices to keep its EVs moving in a slower market.
The bottom line: The 2027 Cadillac Optiq Luxury RWD now starts at $49,995 before destination, or $51,790 with it, down $905. The Sport trims are $900 cheaper, and the Premium and V-Series trims haven't changed. Before you pay sticker, compare it with a Model Y Premium, and check local dealer offers, because the federal tax credit is gone.
